The company was established by Colin O’Callaghan, who has significant experience in public sector planning. The principal was previously employed as a planning officer in the Department of the Environment. He is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and holds a BSC Honours Degree in Environmental Planning and a Postgraduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning, obtained at Queens University Belfast, in 2001 and 2002 respectively. O’Callaghan Planning is a member of the Federation of Small Business in Northern Ireland.

Working as a local authority planning officer in Belfast and Craigavon, the principal has amassed considerable experience in handling major and controversial planning applications.
